Waffle Paper

While attempting to utilize Stampin' Up! waffle paper, I discovered that it works great for the technique, Iris Folding.  I used an Iris Folding pattern to create the large bat on my card, and filled it in with Basic Black and Metallic Silver waffle paper.  I believe it is quite appropriate to have some bats hanging upside down on the card. (LOL)

I used the fantastic Stampin' Up! Silver Glass Glitter in the center of the Iris Folding, which creates the "iris".  I love this stuff!  Hopefully, you can see it well.

Now, let's peek inside and see what pops up!  Be careful that you don't get scared when you flip the card open!

BOO!!!

Can't you hear the little ghosts giggling because they scared you!! (hehe)

Let's take a closer look that them!

OK, maybe you didn't hear my ghost yelling, "Boo", but I sure did when I was making the card ;-))

I hope you are inspired by the fun that Stampin' Up! provides us if we allow our creativity to flow naturally!

A PIECE OF ART FEATURING "PLANT HOPE"

I refer to this card as "a piece of art" as it is truly my own piece of art. The majority of the card is a creation made by hand through using just a brayer and ink. I really enjoy this process; however, it's more difficult for me than "traditional stamping" per se.

I used the Plant Hope stamp set, as it is one of my favorites. The stamp set is so perfect for making a card for either a male or female (have you ever heard of a unisex stamp set - LOL).  Last month I used the stamp set to create similar cards.  The differences in the cards are an additional ink color, cardstock, and scene that I added.

I am sure someone out there has already learned that you can use two of Stampin' Up! punches to create one unique "photo corner". However, I've not seen it and just discovered it while developing this card. I punched a corner of paper using the Scallop Trim Corner punch, and then punched the same piece of paper with the Photo Corners punch. I like the result! But, I mostly like the art work! Thanks for stopping by to enjoy it also.

Simon, Theodore, and ALVIN!

When I first received the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Merry Crittermas Stamp Set, I knew right away the item I would create.  I thought of the Chipmunks Christmas Album from way back (I have the cassette - that's how far back)!

I can hear Dave calling the #1 Chipmunk's name,
"A L V I N"!  Can't you hear it too?

The three are in their living room decorating the Christmas tree.  I drew and inked in the wood floor, walls, and base boards.  I used the heat embossing technique on the three chipmunks and their tree. I had FUN creating this card!

Now for the important stuff - supplies used:

STAMP SET:  Merry Crittermas
PAPER:  Candy Cane Christmas DSP and Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, and Whisper White Cardstock
INK:  (Classic Stampin' Pads and Markers)
Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Creamy Caramel (retired), Real Red, and Frost White and Champagne Mist All-Purpose Ink
ACCESSORIES:  Glimmer Subtles Brads, Clear Trim Tinsel, and Blushing Bride Ribbon Stitched Poly
ENJOY!

Winking Owl Santa

Got to love that owl punch!!  (CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE:  STAMPINGWITHGUNEAUXDESIGNS.COM)  It has to be the most popular of Stampin' Up!'s punches.  It is so fun creating with the owl, as I have done here.  My owl is a Santa who is winking, as we all know that whether we are naughty or nice, he always brings us goodies!  I hope you enjoy viewing the card as much as I did making it!

The red background features the Big Shot Northern Flurry textured impressions.  Love that Stampin' Up! product too!  (I hope Stampin' Up! carries this product over in its next catalog.)  And the silver trim tinsel is lovely.  It adds a nice touch to the card.

The side view of the card makes more visible the use of Stampin' Up!'s Chunky Essentials Glitter.  Love that glitter!  I'll probably need more before December rolls around.

The close up of Mr. Owl Santa provides a better view of him.  He was fun to create.  I made my own Santa hat from Stampin' Up! card stock, and I think it turned out well.  This would be a great Christmas card for my grandson, Drew, and granddaughter, Erika.  However, they will see it here so I'll have to think of something else for them.

RIBBON WEAVING

It feels good to be back home with my SU products!  I've been gone for several weeks, and couldn't wait to get back to crafting. Today, I sat down at my craft table, knowing that I wanted to develop something with ribbon. What would that be?  I didn't know at first.  But as creativity goes, one must go with the flow.  So I did, and here is my finished product...a "ribbon weaved" card. Hope you like it! Feel free to share your comments.
