BRING ON THE CAKE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

The spring flowers blooming around my home in Florida inspired me to use the Stampin' Up! Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) for my Happy Birthday card.  The Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Peach Parfait combination of colors in the DSP is so striking and cheerful.  I used these card stock colors for the card base and mats that are behind the DSP.  I sprayed Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz on the two center 2-3/8" Scallop Circles that are embellished with the beautiful Basic Pearls Jewels.  The Happy Birthday stamp on the scallop circles is from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set.  The two bows were made with the Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon.

The Bring on the Cake Stamp Set has 13 stamps!! Purchase this set before the Occasions Mini Catalog expires!

BUILD A BLOSSOM - CRYSTAL FOUNTAIN CLEMATIS

(CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE: STAMPINGWITHGUNEAUXDESIGNS.COM)

Looking for a birthday card idea?  Here is one for a special female.  If you haven't, I strongly recommend you purchase the wonderful    Blossom Petals Punch before Sale-a-Bration ends.  It is like the Petal Cone Bigz Die; very versatile and your use of it is limited only by your imagination.  Many Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and customers are thoroughly enjoying this punch.  Today's project features this punch and a Crystal Fountain Clematis (see picture below).  Yes, it's pink, Pretty in Pink, that is!  Remember, only your imagination is your limitation?  Well, I wanted a pink Clematis to match my second card layer, Lap of Luxary Designer Series Paper, so I created one.  I created it with seven of the punch's small blossoms, which I spritzed with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  I made the Concord Crush stamen of the Clematis with many of the smallest leaf from the Blossom Petals Punch.  Using the Stampin' Up! Paper Snips, I cut the leaves into thin strips, ensuring I didn't cut completely through the edge.

I made the Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron stamen by (1) cutting two small, narrow strips of each card stock, with the So Saffron shorter than the Pear Pizzazz; (2) cutting the pieces into thin strips, which were cut only to the edge; and (3) rolling them up with the So Saffron in the middle of the Pear Pizzazz.  Using the Crop-A-Dile, I punched a medium-sized hole in the center of the pink and purple parts of the flower, inserted these two rolled-up strips, and glued them together on the back side.  The leaves of the flower were made with the punch and Always Artichoke card stock.

I used a Happy Birthday stamp in the Bring on the Cake stamp set to stamp the sentiment on Pretty in Pink card stock.  The sentiment is encased with the largest of the Beveled Windowpanesand attached to the card with  Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon.  I embellished the card with Pretty in Pink Flower Brads, Subtles Collection.

What do you think of this one?

Don't forget, purchase the Blossom Petals Punch before Sale-a-Bration ends!

BUILD A BLOSSOM - LORD BALTIMORE HIBISCUS

I must say that I am having a blast with the Stampin' Up! Build a Petal punch.  Here is another "Blossom" card that I created with the punch.  The inspiration for the Blossom is my Lord Baltimore Hibiscus that has 8" wide blossoms.  It is a beautiful Hibiscus plant (see picture below).

The petals of the blossom were made  from Rich Razzleberry card stock.  The Rich Razzleberry Marker was used for the center of the blossom and the veins on each petal.  The staminal column was created with two small strips of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  The stamens were created by punching extra-small circles from So Saffron card stock and adhering them to the column.  The finished blossom was spritzed with Vanilla ShimmerThe leaves and part of the bloom were created with Always Artichoke card stock and marker.

Other products
used were the Rich Razzelberry paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Pattern Stack, Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper, and the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impression Emboss Folder.

BUILD A BLOSSOM - ANGELIQUE DAYLILLY

Hello, Friends!  I hope you're having a good day.  It is raining in my part of Florida, which is good as we need the rain.  My share today features the Stampin' Up! Blossom Petals Punch for building a blossom.  This punch and the matching stamp set, Build a Blossom, are a lot of fun.  If you've hesitated to purchase it, I encourage you to do so.  With Spring upon us, this stamp set and punch will be featured more than it is already.

So, what blossom was I building?  It's an Angelique Daylilly that is featured in a current catalog of flowers (see photo below).  I started with Whisper White card stock, punching three large petals and three large leaves.  Using a combination of Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils and Brights Water Wonder Crayons, I watercolored the petals and leaves yellow.  Then I used the Rich Razzelberry crayon to pull in the pinkish/purple color.  I continued using the pencils, crayons, and the Aqua Painter until I got the look I wanted.  I created the stamen of the flower with two of the smallest leaf/blossom from the punch.  The stamen is made with So Saffron card stock that I cut into strips and adhered them together.  The center of the stamen is embellished with a Basic Rhinestone.

The Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper worked great for matching the color of the Daylilly.  Always Artichoke cardstock was used to create the flower's stems as well as the photo corners and the first layer of the card front.

This photo was my inspiration for this card.  Compare the card with the photo and tell me how I did!  Don't waste time searching for Stampin' Up! item numbers; just click on the blue links that will take you directly to the on-line product. Thanks for stopping by.

EASTER BLOSSOMS

Workshop hostesses are very special people to me, and I greatly appreciate them.  I wanted to let my last workshop hostess know how much I appreciate her preparation efforts; therefore, I created this card for her.

The technique used on the Black Card Stock is called "black magic, with a twist" (couldn't there be a better name?). I had not used this technique before but plan to use it again.  The card stock was cut using the Oval Scallop Frame Bigz Die.

The card features Stampin' Up! Easter Blossoms Stamp Set in the 2011 Occasions Mini Catalog.  I stamped the blossoms onto the card stock with Whisper White Craft Ink.  After allowing the ink to dry, I used the Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils to color the blossoms.  The blossoms are matted with a Petals-A-Plenty embossed piece of Pixie Pink Card Stock (retired).  The Wild Wasabi Card Stock is also enbossed with the same Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The card front is embellished with the wonderful Subtles Glimmer Brads.  If you haven't purchased any of the Glimmer Brads, you should.  You won't regret having such beautiful embellishments.

THANK YOU!

Today's card share has a special meaning to me because any military-related art that I create causes me to get quite teary-eyed.  My son-in-law is on active duty with the Army, and he is currently stationed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in the Wounded Warrior Brigade.  Also at WRAMC is a particular soldier and his active-duty wife who have really looked out for my son-in-law and daughter.  We learned recently that the soldier is leaving that area and will most likely be deployed to Afghanistan.  God bless them all!

My son-in-law requested that I create a "Thank You" card that he could give to the soldier and his wife before their departure.  My son-in-law wants to let them know just how grateful he and my daughter are for their abundant kindness.  Thus, this is the card I created.

Because the card is for a male and female, I tried to make it gender-neutral.

Thinking about being grateful for the kindness of others, I thought that, although it is unavailable now, the Day of Gratitude stamp set would work well for the purpose of this card.  Additionally, since the U.S. military uses medallions for various purposes, I thought that the medallion stamp seemed very appropriate.  The "Thank You" sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! Curly Cute stamp set.  The sentiment was created using the Modern Label PunchModern Label Punch Window, Night of Navy Marker, and Crystal Effects.

Besides the medallion, the center of the card was created using the Stampin' Up! 2-1/2" Circle Punch (bottom layer) and the 3" Circle (middle layer) and 3-1/2" Circle Dies (top layer).

Night of Navy card stock was used for the card base.  The top three layers were made using Tempting Turquoise card stock and the Regals (Night of Navy) and Subtles (Wild Wasabi) Collections Designer Series Paper.  The lovely Brights Glimmer Brads (Old Olive) were used for embellishment.  Enjoy and come back!

VALENTINE OWL & PUNCH BUNCH

CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE:  http://stampingwithguneauxdesigns.com

Can you tolerate another OWL card?  I knew you would say, "Yes".  Today's share is my Valentine Owl card.  This card's primary feature is the owl stamp of the Stampin' Up! (SU) Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch.  This stamp set is free with the purchase of $50 in SU products or a $300 net sales workshop.

This card is meant for a best girlfriend.  The sentiment, "Whooose Your Valentine?" and the stamp, "Friend" is meant to be read as, "Whooose your Valentine, Friend?"  The sentiment, "Whooose Your Valentine", was made with My Digital Studio (MDS) and cut with the banner portion of the wonderful Petal Cone Bigz Die.  (Isn't it great that if you don't have a stamp that meets your need, all you need to do is create it with MDS?)
