Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set & Tool Tip

Welcome to Guneaux Designs!  Today I am sharing with you a card that features a new stamp set from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, the Flowering Flourishes.  I was so disappointed when Stampin' Up! retired the Baroque Motifs stamp set; however, I am quite pleased with the Flowering Flourishes stamp set which is similar.  The stamp set includes three "flourishes", and the one on this card is the largest.  I think it is so cute!

STAMPIN’ UP! SUPPLIES:

Stamp Sets:  Flowering Flourishes (126367) and Bring on the Cake (121958 – sentiment)

Paper:  Gumball Green Card Stock (126840), Primrose Petals Card Stock (126841), and Whisper White Card Stock (100730)

Ink (Stampin’ Write Markers):  Gumball Green Marker, Primrose Petals Marker, Raspberry Ripple Marker, Midnight Muse Marker, and Summer Starfruit Marker (all in one package – 126856)

Accessories:  Midnight Muse 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon (126847), Basic Pearls (119247), Curly Label Punch (119851) and 1-1/4” Square Punch  

HOW TO MAKE THIS HANDMADE CARD:

• Cut a 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Gumball Green Card Stock and fold it in the middle to create a card base.
• Cut a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Primrose Petals Card Stock and adhere it onto the front of the card base.
• Cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock.
• Using the above listed Stampin' Write Markers, cover the flourish stamp with Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit ink (see picture for guidance).
• Stamp the image onto the Whisper White Card Stock.
• Fill in with ink the places on the stamped image where needed.
• Use a permanent yellow marker and color three Basic Pearls.
• Adhere the pearls onto the three flowers as shown in picture.
• Underneath of stamp image, stamp "Happy Birthday" using this sentiment from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.
• Tie a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon into a bow and adhere it to the top-left of the stamp image.
• Follow the information below to create the two corner pieces.

TOOL TIP: 

Remember when we had the Stampin’ Up! Photo Corner Punch to create our corner decorations on our handmade cards?  I loved that punch and I miss it.  Well, I decided to look for another way to make attractive photo corner pieces.  Therefore, I did, and this is how I did it.

1.  Cut a piece of cardstock using the Curly Label Punch.

2.  Place the corner of the long side of the curly label into the corner of the 1-1/4" Square Punch, lining it up evenly and cutting it.




3.  This is the result.  Cut more and add them to the corners of your card.

Flag Day!

HAPPY FLAG DAY!!!  Did you know that on June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress of the Stars and Stripes adopted the Stars and Strips as the official flag of the United States (U.S.)?  That's true!  Consequently, a law was enacted that designated today as Flag Day.  

Flag Day is a day that the President of the U.S. calls on U.S. Government officials to display the flag of the U.S. on all government buildings, and urges people of the U.S. to observe June 14 as Flag Day to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of our official flag. 

This day is important to my family as it also is my late Dad's birthday.  He LOVED the American Flag, and displayed it everywhere he could as well as purchased anything that had the flag on it.  This card is in celebration of both special events.

Does my flag look like it's waving in the wind like the one above?  I meant for it to. 
God bless the United States of America, and may we look upon our flag in a special way today.

A Cherry on Top, Floral District DSP, and Labels Collection Framelits - Happy Birthday

Don't you love making Stampin' Up! greeting cards for people who are very special to you?  I sure do.  This card is just that ~ a happy birthday card for a very special friend.  It features the new Hostess Stamp Set, A Cherry On Top (125971).  Also featured are the beautiful Floral District Designer Series Paper (126919) and Labels Collection Framelits (125598).

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Cut a 6" x 12" piece from a 12" x 12" piece of Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, folding it in a 6" square so it opens from the bottom up. 
• Cut a 5-3/4" square of Floral District DSP, round the edges with the  Stampin' Up! Corner Punch (119871), and adhere to the card base.
• Using the two largest Labels Collection Framelits, cut two frames; the largest with Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and second one with Lucky Limeade Card Stock.
• Cover the cake dish top stamp image from the A Cherry On Top Stamp Set with VersaMark ink and stamp onto Whisper White Card Stock.
• Emboss it with White Embossing Powder (109132).
• Using Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade inks, stamp the cake dish pedestal and cupcake bottom and top images on the Whisper White Card Stock in appropriate location (see pics).
• Using Real Red ink, stamp the cherry on top of the cupcake.
• Cover only the cake dish top with Crystal Effects (101055) and let dry.
• Cut out the images as one piece and adhere it the Lucy Limeade Card Stock.
• If desired, place a ribbon bow onto the pedestal.
• Place foam dimensionals on the back of the Lucky Limeade frame.
• Adhere it to the Rich Razzleberry frame.
• Adhere that to the Floral District DSP.

Happy Birthday Card - Comfort Cafe DSP & Apothecary Accents Framelits

Are you getting excited about the debut of the new Stampin' Up! Catalog?  When it debuts on June 1, you'll notice a lot of changes, good ones that is.  This project share features one of the beautiful, upcoming Designer Series Paper (DSP), Comfort Cafe DSP (126898) and a new Framelit, Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003).  This card features two of the designs for this DSP. The key color for these designs is Cajun Craze.

TIP:  If you will note, you can see that I used the negative of the new Framelit  for the first card layer.  Try that when you get yours.  Also, I covered it with Crystal Effects (love that stuff!).

Happy Birthday - Brayer

It has been a while since I've used my Stampin' Up! brayer, so I decided to use it to create this card for my special brother who has a birthday Saturday.  He is a horse lover and has had many beautiful, special horses in his lifetime.  Therefore, I wanted a horse stamp for the card.  I chose to use a retiring Stampin' Up! stamp set, Out West, that met my need for a horse stamp.  The brayering on this card was inspired by Michelle Zindorf, who taught me how to use a brayer.  If you are interested in taking one of her classes (she travels all over the US), click here.

Floral District Designer Series Paper - Happy Birthday

Hello, If you are a Mom, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!  Mondays can be downers so I'm providing you with some very cheerful colors on my Happy Birthday Card.  This card features the upcoming Stampin' Up! Spring is officially here!  My Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Greeting Card today is a Spring-related card featuring my favorite flowers - tulips.  Isn't it so cute?

You will note the unique card fold.  The following pictures show the card fully open, front and back:

The card's primary element is the tulips.  They were made with the punch we all love, the Stampin' Up! Owl Punch.

I am enjoying the Stampin' Up! Apothecary Art Stamp Set from the 2012 Occasions Mimi Catalog.  How about you?  This Happy Birthday card is made with the Stampin' Up! In Colors, Blushing Bride and Island Indigo.  The Twitterpated Designer Series Paper is featured on the card as well.

Brayered Beach Scene - Happy Birthday Easel Card

Having spent the holidays on a Caribbean cruise with special friends, I decided to create a beach scene with the color of the Caribbean Sea for a Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday easel card.  Today is the birthday of one of the special friends, and I made this card for him.  I hope his day includes many blessings and plenty of cake and ice cream!

The beach scene was created by using a Brayer art tool and various Stampin' Up! inks.  The ink colors I used for the sun, sky, water, and sand, respectively, are:  So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Marina Mist, Not Quit Navy, Baja Breeze, Pool Party, River Rock, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede. 

The palm trees were made with a stamp image from Plant Hope.  The sentiment, Happy Birthday, is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.  Enjoy!

Sweet Cake and Sweet Shop - Happy Birthday

Yum! I wish you could smell the cupcake icing on my Happy Birthday Stampin' Up! Greeting Card.  Yes, that's right, smell!  The cupcake icing is embossed with the new Vanilla Scented Stampin' Embossing Powder, and it really smells like vanilla.  There are two other scents of the new embossing powder, the Melon and Cherry.  I am so pleased with Stampin' Up!'s new Occasions Mini Catalog and its products!

This Happy Birthday card showcases the new Sweet Cake Stamp Set and Sweet Shop Designer Series Specialty Paper.  Both the cupcake image and sentiment are stamps in the Sweet Cake Stamp Set. 

I used the In Color Lucky Limeade Cardstock on the upper half of the card, and the Island Indigo Cardstock for the card base.  The bottom half of the card is from one of the designs in the Sweet Shop Designer Series Specialty Paper.  And the ribbon across the middle of the card is the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon.  Other Stampin' Up! products used are the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details and the White Dazzling Details.

How to Make a Waterfall Card: Happy Birthday Stampin' Up! Greeting Card

Today is a special day as it is my sweet granddaughter's birthday!  Happy Birthday, Erika!  I made this Stampin' Up! waterfall card for her, which closely resembles another waterfall card I made.

The "waterfall" shows the process of building a cupcake, using the Stampin' Up! Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Cupcake Builder punch.  My granddaughter loves pink and purple, thus I used the Wisteria Wonder and Pretty in Pink cardstock.  The top layer is the lavender design from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Other Stampin' Up! products used are the Pretty in Pink Flower Brads, a Perfect Plum brad from the Stampin' Up! Subtles Collection, a Trinket Crown, which represents the princess she is, and Basic Rhinestones.
