Mother's Day Card 2012 - Shaving Cream Technique

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE!

This card is dedicated to all Moms, especially those who have loved ones in Iraq or Afghanistan.  May your day be a blessed and happy one!  God's blessings to you!

To me it seems inappropriate to get into the details about this card since the purpose of it is simply for today, Mother's Day.

Have a blessed day!

Pink-on-Pink Mother's Day Card - 2012

A mother understands what a child does not say.
 -Author Unknown
Sunday is Mother's Day; do you have your card made yet?  This card was quite easy to made as everything on it is Pretty in Pink, which is one of Stampin' Up!'s colors in card stock, ink, markers, brads, ribbon, and more.  As Stampin' Up! stampers, we often make white-on-white cards, so I decided to make a Pink-on-Pink card to share with you.

Before I embossed the top layer with the Manhattan Flower Textured Embossing Folder, I covered the folder with Pretty In Pink ink, which then transferred to the card stock.  As you can see, this process highlights the Manhattan Flower embossing.
This picture provides you with a better view of the dimensional aspects of the card.

The next two pictures provide closeups of the card's elements.  The sentiment, Thinking of You, is from the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set, and it rests within a Designer Frame that was made with the Designer Frame Embossing Folder.

The lovely butterflies that adorn the card were made with the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.

I sure would love to know what your thoughts are regarding this pink-on-pink card!  Please leave me a comment!  Enjoy!

Mother's Day Card 2012

"We never know the love of the parent until we become parents ourselves."
Henry Ward Beecher

What a true statement!  Whether or not you're a parent, you may not appreciate just how much your Momma loves you.  Don't forget to let her know how very important she is to you and how much you love her on May 13, Mother's Day.

This card share is one for Mother's Day.  I would so much love to give this to my Momma, but she is in heaven.  But if your Mom is still with you, don't take her for granted and shower her with love and appreciation on her special day.  Make her a handmade card; she'll love that.

This card is made with Concord Crush Card Stock (which expires on May 31) and Wild Wasabi Card Stock.  It is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and scored at the 3-1/4" mark.  The flower is a replica of one on the front page of Stampin' Up!'s May issue of Stampin' Success, a magazine that demonstrators receive monthly.  I made it by using the large leaf from the Blossom Petals Punch.  Isn't it so cute?  Guess which stamp I used to make the Wild Wasabi swirls at the top and bottom of the flower?

The right side of the card features the Vine and Blossom Standard Wheel,  Postage Stamp Punch, You're A Gem Stamp Set (which retires on May 31), and the word, Mother, on one stamp from Messages for Mom Stamp Set (which also retires).

ENJOY!

God's Blessings!
