Stampin' Up! Greeting Card - Thanks - Beyond the Garden - Top Note

Today I decided to make a "Thanks" greeting card using the  Stampin' Up! Top Note Bigz Die and the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP).   I used  Stampin Up So Saffron Card Stock and folded it for a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card.  When placing the folded card stock onto the Top Note Die for running it through the Big Shot machine, I assured the fold was just inside the cut line on the top of  the Top Note Die to produce two holes at the top of the card (see below).  The resulting card size is 4-5/8" x 3-1/4".

To decorate the card, I cut two Top Notes from a piece of one of the designs from the Beyond the Garden DSP.  I cut along the perforated lines on both pieces, saving the inside of one piece (yellow, pink, green, and white) for the first card layer and the outside of the other (blue and white) for the outside of the card.

To create the blue butterflies on the card front that match the outer edge of the card, I  used the Embosslits Beautiful Wings. I cut out a flower to match the center flower and layered it on top.  I made the "Thanks" banner with My Digital Studio.  I then inserted into the two holes at the top of the card a piece of Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon.

For the inside of the card, I stamped a matching Pacific Point flower from the Fabulous Florets onto Whisper White card stock.

I think my card turned out beautifully; what do you think?

Stampin' Up! Greeting Card Idea - Brayered Beach Scene

Need a Stampin' Up! greeting card idea?  Get out your Stampin' Up Brayer  and create this beach scene by brayering the sky, water, and beach with the inks listed below.  Then use the Stampin' Up! Plant Hope Stamp Set to add palm trees to your scene.

CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE: STAMPINGWITHGUNEAUXDESIGNS.COM

My daughter asked me to create a card with a beach scene for a special person who lives in the Northern Virginia area where one typically cannot see the blue sky because of smog.  So she wanted to send a card his way with a blue sky, sunshine, palm trees, and the beach!  I am so glad that I no longer live in that area.  I love the sunshine in Florida, and this card makes me want to go to the beach!  The Gulf Coast beaches are much lighter in color than I made it in the scene (I got it too dark).

The products used to create the card include the Stampin' Up! card stock in Baja Breeze, So Saffron, and Whisper White.  The Classic Stampin' Pads used were Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and So Saffron.  The Stampin' Up! Photo Corners Punch was used to create the So Saffron and Baja Breeze photo corners.

GREETING CARD IDEA - STAMPIN UP PAISLEY PETALS

My greeting card idea for today focuses on the beautiful, beautiful Stampin Up Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP) that becomes available April 1 through April 30, 2011.  I am excited that this DSP will be in the upcoming 2011-2012 Stampin Up Idea Book and Catalog and therefore be available for a year!  Purchase the DSP in April; I promise you won't be disappointed.

This greeting card features various papers of the Paisley Petals DSP.  I thought last summer's Stampin Up Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack was tops, but after seeing and working with the Paisley Petals, I completely changed my mind.  I am so in love with this paper.  Here's my first share that features Paisley Petals.

To emphasize the beautiful light blue DSP, I used Stampin Up Glitter, Fine Cosmo, Light Blue around the border of the Framed Tulips  embossing on the card front.  I also used the glitter on the inside of the card in the debossed tulips.  The "for you" sentiment on the card front is from the Stampin Up Elements of Style stamp set, and is built up with Stampin Up Dimensionals

To enhance the flower on the top card layer, I cut an additional, identical flower, applied Crystal Effects, and adhered it over the orignial flower with Dimensionals.  Also used on the card front is the Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon and Brads from the Subtles Collection.  The primary card stock for this greeting card is Tangerine Tango, and for the inside it is River Rock

Greeting Card Idea

Today, I am honored to feature a guest designer, Michelle, who made this card with Stampin Up products!  Michelle is my customer and I asked her to make a card so I could feature her on my blog.  I was pleased with her creativity that is shown in the development of the flower.  The card is bright and cheerful, don't you think?  She would love to have you comment on her card, so please leave a note.  Thank you!
