Stampin' Up! Greeting Card - Land of the Free & Service and Sacrifice

I made this Stampin' Up! Greeting Card to thank my son-in-law for his outstanding military service. Today is the official effective date of his military, medical retirement.  My son-in-law was deployed three times, injured in Iraq, and incurred many "scars" as a result.  I am very grateful for the sacrifices he made for my freedom!

Our family is so blessed to have him home and away from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) where his treatment was such that no soldier should have to endure.  If a soldier is placed in the WRAMC's Wounded Warrior Brigade (WWB) and not missing a limb, he/she is considered worthless and treated accordingly.  Unfortunately, this is his story as it is for so many other WRAMC WWB soldiers!  Praise God for this day and for bringing him home and away from horrible experiences. Now it's time for his healing!  Prayers for him would be greatly appreciated!

I made this card, which is a hybrid, with Pacific Point, Whisper White, and Real Red Card Stock. The top sentiment is the Land of the Free Stamp in the Summer Mini Catalog.  The corners of the card stock were punched with a non-SU punch.  The frame at the bottom is from My Digital Studio, Framed with Love, and it is embellished with Gold Brads.  The sentiment in the frame is from the Service and Sacrifice Stamp Set.  I used the Stampin' Up! Biz XL Tasteful Trim Die to make the blue and white "strips" that go down the card front.

I made my flag pole with Brushed Gold Card Stock and the Jewelry Tag Punch. Did you know you could create a LONG Jewelry Tag with the punch?  Finally, I used floss for my cord on the pole.

Stampin' Up! Greeting Card - Happy Birthday - Beyond the Garden DSP

Need an idea for a Stampin' Up! birthday greeting card featuring the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP)?  Here is one that I made for a very special friend who is having a milestone birthday this weekend.  One of the pictures below of the card is a closeup of the flowers that I created with the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  It is provided in case you desire a closer "look".

The base for the card is Wild Wasabi Card Stock.  Other card stock used is Tangerine Tango, So Saffron (sentiment), and Daffodil Delight.  A design from Beyond the Garden DSP is the first layer for the card and the second layer for the sentiment.  The center of the card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock, Wild Wasabi Card Stock, and a design from the Sunny Garden DSP.  It is embellished with flowers made with the three images from the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch

The bottom and middle layers of the largest flower on the card is from Image 1 of the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  The top layer of the flower is from Image 3, and the center is from the outer layer of Image 2 of the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  The glitter that is seen between the middle and top layers of the flower is the Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds

The other two flowers are identical and made from Image I (first layer) and Image 2 (second layer) of the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  Both layers are covered with one of the new Stampin' Up! Embossing Powders, either the Tangerine Tango or Wild Wasabi.  The Blossom Petals Punch was used to create the three leaves around the flowers.

The three small tear drops in the three corners of the center piece are from the cutouts of Image 3 of the punch.  As I was making the card, I had several of these pieces on my table, and I thought they are too cute to not use.  Therefore, I used them and like the outcome!

The "Birthday Wishes" sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! Occasional Quotes Hostess Set on page 12 of the large catalog.  The Modern Label and Word Window Punches were used to create the sentiment.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the development of the flowers.  Also, if you have not purchased the products used for this card, order them by placing your cursor over the links and you will be taken directly to the products.  Until the next time,

God Blessings!

Stampin' Up! Greeting Card - Peace Within

For a while now I have wanted to make a Stampin' Up! greeting card using the Stampin' Up! Peace Within stamp set.  I finally found the time to create one.  I hope you enjoy it.

For the background of the card, I used a Brayer to create the field, sky, and sun.  The background is perfect for the peaceful cat and his favorite chair.

The card stock and designer series paper used for the greeting card are the Stampin' Up! Baja Breeze, Regals Collection DSP, and Pawsititively Prints II DSP.   The photo corners were created with the new Stampin Up Postage Stamp Punch.  Enjoy!

Beyond the Garden DSP Greeting Card

What design within the Stampin' Up! Beyond the Garden DSP is your favorite for creating greeting cards?  It's difficult to pick one, isn't it?  I love all of the designs, but I must say I especially love the Pacific Point designs.  Needless to say, that is the design I picked for this card.

This greeting card is quite simple.  I used one of the Pacific Point floral designs to create the first and only layer on the Pacific Point Card Stock.  For the center of the flowers, I placed a Pacific Point Corduroy Button.  Here's the card:

Down the left side of the card is Whisper White Organza Ribbon that I twisted and adhered to the DSP.  The center piece of the card is a Pacific Point Card Stock square that is covered with a Whisper White Card Stock square from which I punched four flowers.  Above the two squares is a cutout from the Stampin' Up! Flower Burst Embosslit Die.  The Flower Burst is embossed with the new and wonderful Stampin' Up! Wild Wasabi Embossing PowderHave you used this embossing powder?  If so, what are your thoughts?  Back to the card - the sentiment, "the earth laughs in flowers" is from the new Stampin' Up! Fabulous Florets Stamp Set.

I hope Stampin' Up! carries over the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set into the 2012 big catalog, don't you?  If you feel as I do, let's send Stampin' Up! an email requesting it to include this set in the big catalog.

You can purchase the products highlighted and linked directly to my 24/7 store.  Just place your cursor over the links and left click.

Stampin' Up! Greeting Card Idea - Brayered Beach Scene

Need a Stampin' Up! greeting card idea?  Get out your Stampin' Up Brayer  and create this beach scene by brayering the sky, water, and beach with the inks listed below.  Then use the Stampin' Up! Plant Hope Stamp Set to add palm trees to your scene.

CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE: STAMPINGWITHGUNEAUXDESIGNS.COM

My daughter asked me to create a card with a beach scene for a special person who lives in the Northern Virginia area where one typically cannot see the blue sky because of smog.  So she wanted to send a card his way with a blue sky, sunshine, palm trees, and the beach!  I am so glad that I no longer live in that area.  I love the sunshine in Florida, and this card makes me want to go to the beach!  The Gulf Coast beaches are much lighter in color than I made it in the scene (I got it too dark).

The products used to create the card include the Stampin' Up! card stock in Baja Breeze, So Saffron, and Whisper White.  The Classic Stampin' Pads used were Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and So Saffron.  The Stampin' Up! Photo Corners Punch was used to create the So Saffron and Baja Breeze photo corners.

Purchase your Stampin' Up! products by clicking on the above links that will take you right to the product - no need to look up item numbers!
